The Exhibition of Five Sculptors
Date & Venue Date : Jan. 06 – Feb. 08, 2011 Opening Reception : Jan. 13, 2011, 6pm-8pm
The exhibition is presenting the work of five exceptional contemporary sculptors. Each of the artists although stylistically different, focuses on the importance of abstraction in sculpture. The works all exhibit movement and concentrate on the texture of the materials. By varying their techniques and treating the materials differently the artists achieve a unique aesthetic.

Every Mind is a World
New Works by Joseph Arthur Date : February 5 - March 11, 2014 Opening Reception: February 6, 2014 at 6:00-8:00pm Chelsea, New York Branching from his familiar graffiti-esque, expressionist works on paper, Joseph Arthur explores the digital world by creating works exclusively on his iPad Air. He intertwines his paintings and text with the endless choice of colors and styles and manipulates his works into both simple and complex abstractions. Completely relying on the applications on his iPad Air, Arthur is able to implement a number of different styles into his pixilated portraits.

New Horizon
New Work by Jiwon Han Date : July 30 - August 12, 2014 Opening Reception: July 31, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm Chelsea, New York
Han’s sculptures delicately manipulate Silver and Plexiglas with a focus on human emotion. She emphasizes the importance of a genuine partnership between the spiritual world and earthly existence. As she states, she strives "to become one with human emotion and motion." Inspired by minimalism, the form of her work consists of simplicity, purity and clarity, yet in a way it gracefully flows with kinetic movement. With an implicit tension and harmony between opposing elements, she conveys the intricacy of human emotion. The subtle curves and knots open a window on the landscape of human existence. The road of happiness, sorrow and joy is mirrored in the sway of the sculptural path.

The World Comes To Resemble Us
Work by Youngseok Gwon Date : April 23 - May 6, 2014 Opening Reception: April 24, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm Chelsea, New York The perfectly quadrilateral cement buildings outside your window are the main subject of Youngseok Gwon's work. He sees the desolate city in ourselves. Gwon mirrors the dialectic of modern day urban existence in his artwork. The perpetual yearning for nature while inhabiting the cold cement and steel life in a crowded city. The mind splinters as it tries to detach from its urban creation. Gwon's startling paintings capture the essence of a person's soul crying out for peace. A peace that is not forth coming through man's own actions.

Myth Guides Me Into Contemporary World
-Lorenzo Cascio- Date : May 7 - May 27, 2014 Opening Reception: May 8, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm
Chelsea, New York
Well known Italian artist, Lorenzo Cascio is a true visionary who finds the future through the theme of the past. Greek myths pervade his work and provide the road he travels. These classical legends are mixed in the soul of the artist and become something that is pure and timeless.
Cascio shows his paintings inspired by Greek myths and the biblical tales of Christianity. He reinterprets it with a modern sensitivity and brings it to a contemporary world. He also finds his expression through an innovating and original technique of oil and collage and a wise use of colors and signs. |

Passage
New Works by Steve Hickok Date : June 4 - June 17, 2014 Opening Reception: June 5, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm
Chelsea, New York Steve's recent work in this exhibition is characterized by the visual arts styles of strong lines, convincing textures and powerful shapes and contrast leaping from the canvas. The current theme of “Passage” is a meditation on the ups and downs, the climbing and descending through this world in the endless search for a destination or a place to call home. Through all his works, Hickok represents the journey of life with its sharp turns and labyrinthine passages. The dialectic of nature versus our life creates a conflict that stirs his creative mind. These opposites coalesce in artworks of beauty and substance. Hickok travels this path fearlessly searching for answers in an artistic quest to create, surprise and inform.

True, Lies of Life
HyeongTae Moon Date : September 24 - November 4, 2014 Opening Reception: October 23, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm Chelsea, New York
Hyeongtae Moon taps into his aesthetic vision by focusing on the various aspects of a daily routine. He examines moments of existence which most of us take for granted. He sees his painting as a type of diary in which he records the minutia of our day. Moon takes these moments and expands and enlivens them through distorted shapes and assaults of color. He doesn't just paint reality, Moon transforms it through his creative vision. Moon's work strives to combine aspects of reality and dreams. His confession that a canvas without any dreaming is a world of possibility for everything to be drawn is reasonable. The artist shows toys beyond reality and ideal as not missing the fun of a playful child. That realistic images can sprout and flourish in a non-realistic world. As Hyeongtae Mon has stated, 'Life is always interlinked with realistic pains and non- realistic hopes. My paintings, which expose daily routines, are defined as a symbolic expression which emotion is imported into time and place.'

Axis
Solo Exhibition of Jeon Nak Date : November 26 - December 10, 2014
Opening Reception: December 4, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm Chelsea, New York
With a desire to explore the science and technology that can be used to improve the performance of buildings both socially and environmentally, architecture has brought out the overall structure of the lenticular lenses in this series titled Axis. Lenticular printing is a multi-step process consisting of creating a lenticular image, typically layering at least a hundred layers. The series Axis utilizes at least a hundred of layers, and combining it with lenticular lens. Working with hard edge and extension of sculpture body brings the language of both photography and painting; the deeply branded visual memory becomes the source of inspiration. There are clarity and mystery in that geography, with its seemingly endless space that brings us inward. Depth fills and illuminates these spaces of transition as it plays off in endless visual array. |

Daniel Arango VS. Kevin Arnold:
Faith as Model Date : December 18, 2014 - January 14, 2015 Opening Reception: December 18, 2014 at 6:00 - 8:00pm Chelsea, New York
Extremely different in their approaches to the language of painting, each artist offers a unique perspective on what painting might be like when not participating in the current trend of copycat mediocrity and mechanical art, a.k.a. “zombie formalism,” a term coined by Walter Robinson. Neither Arango and Arnold are interested in commenting on the history of painting nor being categorized in the art business. Instead, both have been following their own bliss in a world full of reductive and abstract paintings.
Daniel Arango draws obsessively in AutoCAD and prints his artworks on paper in a cereal box format. These images on cereal boxes draw upon the icons of the popular world, such as James Franco, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Mother Teresa. He has embarked on a spiritual quest since 2010 by traveling all over the world carrying a cereal box with him. Arango treats the box as a pseudo-religious object, and he performs as he eats and shares the cereal with strangers.
Working from life rather than photos, Kevin Arnold updates and harnesses a vocabulary of Trompe-l'œil. By choosing to paint objects with no immediate aesthetic value, he tricks us about the distance between the day- to-day existence and our awareness by abstracting the represented reality. He employs the physical scale in oil painting as an original commodity as intended and plays with the shapes of the canvas, colors of the shadows, textures of the surface in oil paint.
