Korean Artist Lee, GanU-Traditional Korean Seals into Modern Art

Lee, GanU(Lee, Kwan-Woo) uses hundreds of tiny stamps and seals of various shapes and sizes, each uniquely carved in the traditional Korean style. Assembling the seals in a relief-like manner, the artist forms his intricate abstract compositions.

In his interview with MBC (June, 2011), the largest Korean broadcasting network, Lee, GanU(Lee, Kwan-Woo) explains the concept and process of his works in detail in a tour through his studio as well as in Able Fine Art NY gallery in Seoul, Korea.

Able Fine Art NY Gallery in Chelsea, NY will host a solo exhibition for Lee GanU(Lee, Kwan-Woo) in September 2011.
