* Artist statement
The work begins with the refined human emotions and the ‘life of memory’ buried deep within, as we shake off the compulsion to keep up with the information speed of digital civilization and live at the given pace of life.
Like a bird migrating, life drifts from the countryside to the city, then back again within the city. The city exists as a perpetuation of time, manifesting through processes of creation, change, and destruction.
The life dramas of countless small heroes enduring harsh lives in remote areas of the city, as they collide, mingle, and live together amidst urban sprawl, are evident everywhere. At the same time, the everyday events and stories can be overlooked with indifference.Home’ is the life we face soon.
Each life is different and beautiful, and even if it is not what one wants to remember, the desire to open all things that are locked in and closed hearts is what redesigned life in the work. The warmth of humanity is alive and breathing, and the diverse and colorful stories of everyday life show warmth. This is the resonance and status that 'home' gives.
That is why I hope that the happy virus that brings laughter to every home will spread widely.

A hazy, nostalgic atmosphere that evokes nostalgia
Yoon Jong's works display the artist's unique warm emotional gaze that welcomes and cherishes memories.This gentle gaze of the author is directly transmitted to the audience through the work.
The reason for using a universal medium that touches the memories of an unspecified number of people is thought to be to convey the artist's imagery and to present multiple meanings derived from the particularities and circumstances of each individual who appreciates it.
<Story of Mountain 24> presents a familiar yet unfamiliar, ambiguous or unknown space represented by ‘San 24’, thereby evoking the diverse experiences and memories of each audience member.
The precise proposition of ‘San 24’ is contrasted with the vague space in the painting, which is formed based on a memory of uncertainty and non-existence.
The images in each individual's memories and the images on the screen constantly conflict and clash with each other.
The sense of incongruity that arises from these associations is one of the elements that enriches his paintings.
Rather than dealing with grand discourses, the works show emotional stability derived from memory.Artist Yoon Jong quotes a line from poet Marcus Milmartialis, suggesting that reminiscing about past lives brings him as much joy as living another life.some of the works show a landscape painting-like temperament.
Looking at the screen composition of the <Story of Mountain 24> series, you can find several points that are reminiscent of landscape paintings, although they have the characteristics of Western paintings.For example, the appearance of the mountain expressed in <Story of Mountain 24, 3> is reminiscent of the Undujun method.In addition, the expression of <Story of Mountain 24 1> shows the expression method and rhythm of the Pima Junbeop and Bubyeok Junbeop, which are the methods of landscape painting, and the contrast between the nature of the descending waterfall and the rising buildings provides an unfamiliar and heterogeneous landscape.These unique speaking techniques of the artist are thought to be a kind of device that touches on the cultural universality of the audience (a culture familiar with landscape paintings) and conveys to the audience the unfamiliar yet familiar feeling that the artist intended.
